It's funny you ask, because I made the same comment to my husband and we came to the conclusion that you can dye eggs without boiling them (the boiling doesn't make the shell any more dye-able), they would just be extra fragile and wouldn't keep as long out of the fridge. Don't drop an un-boiled egg, unless you want a big mess!
